1. Quentin Johnston, WR, LAC (8% owned)- Quentin had a little coming out party this week getting 2 touchdowns, on 5 catches with 6 targets. The Chargers are clearly interested in running the football and playing a grindy style of football, but someone has to catch the ball sometime. Herbert is an accurate enough quarterback to supply Johnston with at least flex value. The fact that he's 8% owned is astonishing to me.
2. DeMarcus Robinson, WR, LAR, (42% owned) - The Rams to start the season are a dumpster fire. Injuries at the O line, and both all pro Wide Receivers, Puka Nakua and Cooper Kupp are on the IR. Someone has to pick up the slack, and that person is going to be DeMarcus Robinson. We're not going to expect otherworldly fantasy lines, but he will have a high floor and will be reliable for a few weeks until the wideout core heals up. Stafford can still deliver the football, and the ball has to be out faster than ever because the O line can't hold up. This benefits smaller speedy guys like DeMarcus.
3. Las Vegas DST (9% owned) - Las Vegas just had an underdog victory against Baltimore, and the defense held up. Vegas has the lowly Carolina Panthers in their sights for their next game so this is strictly a streaming move. I think for the foreseeable future you can look out to the Panthers schedule and try and grab any defense playing them in the next few weeks. It's liable to get worse before it gets better there.
4. Derek Carr QB, NOS (20% owned) - The Saints start has been probably most unexpected start to the season. They have dropped 40+ points on both teams they've played, and one of those teams was the Dallas Cowboys. Leading that charge is Derek Carr who has been stellar. He's not going to go out and drop 30-40 fantasy points or get a million touchdowns, but it appears he's going to be a reliable streaming option. All the better if the team he's playing with can keep the score close forcing Derek to throw more to keep it close. They have recently game out to multi score leads and have ran the ball more to kill the clock. Any Tua owners or underachieving QB owners should take a flyer on Derek.
5. Carson Steele, RB, KCC (6% owned) - Steele made waves by earning the backup role in an Andy Reid led offense, which normally returns good fantasy results. He had a small amount of carried for lackluster results, and even fumbled. Despite the fumble though, Reid put him right back out there which just shows the confidence they have in him. With Pacheco's broken leg, Steele really has a chance to take this opportunity and make the most of it. The only problem is, Samajae Perine is also on the roster, but his skill set seems more suited for a third down role. Steele might only be a stream, if the rumors are true the Cheifs are interested in another RB, but Steele might get a majority of the carries this week if the new back does get signed and gets acclimated with the playbook.
