We need to talk about your tight end.

No not that one.. Here's the .5 PPR rankings for tight ends as of week 8.

1. Travis Kelce 15.6AVG - 109.3 total points

2. Mark Andrews 13.1AVG - 91.7 total points

3. T.J Hockenson 11.3AVG - 90.3 total points

4. Sam LaPorta 11.1AVG - 88.9 total points

5. George Kittle 9.8AVG - 78.5 total points

6. Cole Kmet 8.4 AVG - 67.5 total points

7. Evan Engram 8.4AVG - 66.9 total points

8. Dallas Goedert 8.2 AVG - 65.5 total points

9. Darren Waller 7.8 AVG - 62.4 total points

10. Taysom Hill 7.7 AVG - 62 total points

The tight end position apart from the top 3 has literally been a dart throw. Kittles 9.8 points per game is deceptive, he has games where he will score 0 points, and other games where he will score 30. LaPorta, who is getting some serious praise throw his way(the next gronk) has been a revelation. Another example of why streaming the tight end position, just not drafting one in drafts is a viable strategy: 5 of the top 15 were not even drafted going into this year. If you reached on Waller, Goedert, or Engram you missed out on some grade A names, AND... You could have been streaming the position and getting the same points per game ratio! With all of this being said Travis Kelce, and Mark Andrews if they can continue putting up these consistent numbers, can justifiably be drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds. They legit take are a win at the tight end position every week. I try and tell my subscribers that ask for advice before the draft to not reach on any tight ends if you don't take a Kelce, Hockenson, or a Andrews for this very reason. It's easy in hindsight to talk after the draft, but going into the season this needs to be a draft philosophy and a strategy to stick to.
