1. Miro Hesikanen (DAL), D, 🔥 - Miro is looking top notch in his Dallas preseason games. Miro has had some change in his deployment, he's now on his natural position as the left d man. This might allow for him a tad more space on offense. Miro always is good for some assists, but he could see a rise in his goal scoring.Â
2. Matias Macceli (UTA) , LW, 🔥 - Macceli is probably one of the most under the radar talents because he played for Arizona. Hopefully Utah gives him some more exposure. Macceli looks like he really has mastered his edge work and can weave in and out of his own zone with ease. He does it against anyone too it's not just teams AHL rosters. He's an efficient passer and can create space and find the open player. He also has knack for getting to dirty areas despite his size. He is undervalued in some fantasy leagues because his deployment was always second or third line, but he might play his wall into a top 6 roll this year and hold it. Utah has also amassed some half decent talent to surround him with ancillary points as well.
3. J.J Paterka (BUF), LW, 🔥 - J.J has been a menace since he was 18. He was on a World Juniors line with Tim Stuztle and Lukas Reichel( With Mo Seider on the backend). J.J has top end speed and the ability to finish off the rush. J.J is finally slated on line one, and seems to be entrenched on that line. He has really looked like he's unlocked a new level to his game this year (I know it's just the preseason).Â
4. Pavel Dorofeyev (VGK), W, 🔥 - Over the off-season the Vegas Golden Knights lost a player from all 4 forward lines. This leaves a large vacancy in minutes and ice time that incumbents and existing roster players have to fill. It seems Pavel has claimed the second line winger spot and has looked great both offensively and defensively. He had some half decent numbers last year on sheltered minutes with less skilled linemates, but we should expect his points to increase slightly, and his ADP hasn't quite caught up yet.Â
5. Matvei Michkov (PHI), W, 🔥 - Coming out of the draft Michkov was really known for his shot, but he has shown to be quite the playmaker as well. He has played the part of sensational rookie so far in the preseason. While Philadelphia head coach is known for being a defensive minded coach, he has had plenty of offensive players score big numbers in his systems. He just asks you play a little defense, which Michkov has appeared to buy into. Michkov isn't exactly playing with world beater centers, but he's really seemed to find chemistry with center Morgan Frost. They are currently in line 2, while some might fear he won't get as many minutes, he will often not be lined up against the opponents best defenders either. I really think Michkov pushes for the Calder trophy and does some damage this year.Â
