5 NHL players who will continue their hot starts

Updated: Oct 16, 2023

Players who are the real deal and will continue what they've shown this far, and if any of them are hanging out on waivers pick them up.

1. Nicholas Paul- Paul is now in the Killorn role. PP1 time with this set of players is just asking for points. He's also the 3C and is labeled as a W/C so any leagues that count faceoffs you can hide him in the winger spot. He's also not afraid the throw the body so he can help in bangers leagues. He's a must add.

2. Matt Dumba- On Arizona Dumba is a top pairing D man. Arizona is better this year and has enough to support some more points from Dumba who has had some offensive upside in his career, and is just bad enough to also have the puck in their own zone for prolonged periods of time to boost his block numbers. He's a must add(be weary of a +/- league).

3. Brock Faber - Speaking of Matt Dumba the guy who took his spot, Brock Faber, is a right handed d man in the mold of a Drew Doughty, or a Charlie McAvoy. He's a hometown kid from Minnesota playing with the Wild. He is a well rounded defender with a knack for getting pucks through. He might be lacking in peripheral stats and banger leagues, but he's worth a roster spot.

4. Ryan Donato- Ryan Donato is the what Pascal Dupuis was to Crosby. Donato is a gritty player who will dig pucks out and is always in the crease. He's going to be riding Bedards coat tails. As long as he's on line one he's going to get perephial stats.

5. Scott Laughton- Scott is continuing his good performance from last year. Many thought that the injury to Sean Couturier was the only thing propping Laughtons season up last year, but Couts is back and he is continuing his productive play. He gets hits blocks, and points. He is a John Tortorella style player and will be used in almost every situation. He's great in bangers leagues.
